Overview

Working at Sabio has been exciting for Victor not just because he gets to mentor his students, but also because he’s learning so much.

Coming on at Sabio “lit a fire under my seat to learn..."

"Not only do you learn to understand technology better as an instructor, but you are also able to offer a more articulate explanation for that technology."

Teaching and Giving Back

“I relish any opportunity to share my programming knowledge.”

“So many engineers were kind enough to share their knowledge with me. It’s become a duty in my mind to share what I know and to give back.”

What’s your teaching style?

"My style of teaching is to have you create something that works then we take it apart and understand how it all comes together.""

"Teaching you how to program is similar to teaching you how to ride a bicycle. I can talk until my face turns blue about what it takes to keep the 2 wheels under you but until you try to ride the bicycle you won't understand what I'm trying to explain. The same goes with writing a program. You need to create something that works before I can explain what it's doing and how it works."

Joining Sabio

When that call came from an acquaintance to join Sabio, Victor embraced the change and accepted in his mind the thrill to share all that knowledge and professional experience he had acquired in his career with actual neophytes.

Here was an opportunity to see Gregorio Rojas’s creation in action. His interview with Gregorio to accept an instructor position with Sabio simply sealed the deal to share his coding experience.

Currently Victor is the VP of Engineering and one of our most senior .NET instructors for our Orange County Campus.
